WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AND AN EMPLOYEE?
A business may pay an independent contractor and an employee for the same or similar work, but there are important legal differences between the two.
For the employee, the company withholds income tax, Social Security, and Medicare from wages paid.
For the independent contractor, the company does not withhold taxes. Employment and labor laws also do not apply to independent contractors.
Compensation through Team Elite Baseball LLC
•Salary – this is only employees
•Preferred Contractor Pay– paid each month as an independent contractor. This is not salary nor are you an employee. This is paid overall for specific jobs but for convenience and consistency for you it is spread out over the 12 months.
•Seasonal Contractor Pay – Paid each month or in an agreed amount of payments for a shorter specific time period. Ie Fall season, youth spring/summer season, HS summer season, WW
•Contractor Per Diem – Paid per day/individual specific event ie 1 practice
•Bonus – distributed lump sum to any eligible worker ( IC or employee) at anytime throughout the year as is warranted

COACHES: JOB DESCRIPTION, REQUIREMENTS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assist the manager’s with any job or task that they need assistance with before games, during games, and after games.
•Report any misconduct from other coaches, players, or parents to the Manager and General Manager.
•Complete specific job assignments with travel teams, tournaments, camps, practices and any other events.
•Will teach and instruct the fundamentals of baseball and the Team Elite Baseball/Elite Athletics, Inc system to players, will set up drills for players, and will relay any other information that will help develop the players and run a stable and consistent program for that assigned age group.
•Evaluate players for positions and will communicate with the Managers on their progress
•Maintain a consistent scorebook and records of all games
•Assist in tournament scheduling for any showcase, tournament, or event that the Manager or General Manager asks coach to contribute or assist in.
•Will supervise the pre-game routine that the involves the players. This includes but not limited to, pre game batting practice, pre game defensive drills, pre game stretching, pre game bullpens and any other pre game activities.
•Focus on developing players’ abilities, improving fundamentals, and increasing their knowledge of the game and fundamentals of Baseball. All coaches agree to only teach and incorporate the standard fundamentals, teachings, mechanics, strategies, and systems that the Managers and General Managers of Elite Athletics, Team Elite Baseball and Superior Baseball Events has taught and explained to each Coach.
•Promote and build the Team Elite Baseball, Elite Athletics, Premier Baseball Events and Alliance Baseball and Softball Academy programs by recruiting new players, new teams, and new coaches that will contribute to growth of the business.
•Consult with the Manager or General Manager before acting or performing a new strategy or addressing and an unknown situation or event.
•Will assist with field maintenance before, during, and after practices, games, or in tournaments.
•Other work and services as described in the document attached hereto as Exhibit “B.”
MANAGERS JOB DESCRIPTION, REQUIREMENTS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish consistent contact and communicate with parents and players through e-mail, telephone calls, and text messaging on a daily basis. Responses should be within 24 hours and all responses will be copied to the Youth and/or High School Director. Use of Engage Bay CRM may be required
- RECRUIT! RECRUIT! RECRUIT!
- Participate in weekly in season phone conference calls to discuss general topics, any issues and your planned schedule for the week.
- Weekly calls/meetings with the Head coaches to discuss any on field issues, development of players, parent issues/questions, etc.
- Discuss and assist Head Coaches with their lineups throughout the season. Manage your teams lineup in games and adjust line ups during the games to follow Team Elite guidelines on playing time and development of players.
- Coordinate with the Player Enhancement staff to create and implement/execute approved practice plans at every practice.
- Attend meetings as needed and required year round. This includes meetings with Player Enhancement Staff, Managers, Coaches, Owners, Youth and/or High School Director, etc
- Report any misconduct from coaches, players, or parents to the General Manager.
- Report any injuries that a player may sustain during games and practices to the High School and Youth Directors
- Complete rosters for all teams in the assigned age group to manage by participating, assisting, coordinating the testing and evaluation for tryouts. Complete and coordinate documenting, tracking and follow up with all existing and new players.
- Complete rosters for all teams in the assigned age group to manage to ensure correct within the tournament organizations – T.C., USSSA, PG, etc. ( ensure HC complete)
- Email coaches with weekly plan, assignments, practice itinerary, fundamentals to address with players, drills for players, and any other information that will help develop the players and run a stable and consistent program for that assigned age group.
- Evaluate players for positions and will communicate with the players and parents on their progress. Maintain communication with the Player Enhancement staff on progress and evaluations of the players.
- Maintain a consistent scorebook and records of all games
- Assist in tournament scheduling for any showcase, tournament, or event that the General Manager or scheduler asks manager to contribute or assist in.
- Will assist in collecting payments from parents, coaches and players for team fees, camps, travel teams, tournaments, or showcases.
- Coordinate and develop a supervised pre-game routine that is maintained and directed by the coaches
- Focus on developing players’ abilities, improving fundamentals, and increasing their knowledge of the game and fundamentals of Baseball. All managers and coaches agree to only teach and incorporate the standard fundamentals, teachings, mechanics, strategies, and systems that Elite Athletics, Team Elite Baseball and Superior Baseball Events has taught and explained to each Manager.
- Promote and build the Team Elite Baseball, Elite Athletics, Superior Baseball Events, Elite Sluggers programs by recruiting new players, new teams, and new coaches that will contribute to growth of the business.
- Consult with the General Manager before acting or performing a new strategy or addressing an unknown situation or event.
- Other work and services as asked by Director or Assistant Director – may include but not limited to tryouts, individual workouts, practice teams and/or players, meetings, assisting with uniform distribution
- Assist and maintain the website for your age group including updates on tournaments and practice schedules, announcements, programs etc.
- Coordinate and manage any special event such as BCS, WWBA, Cooperstown, GS WS, etc. This includes process of obtaining hotels, coordination of staff, collection of money etc.
HEAD COACHES: JOB DESCRIPTION, REQUIREMENTS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Manager’s with any job or task that they need assistance with before games, during games, and after games.
- Report any misconduct from other coaches, players, or parents to the Manager and General Manager.
- Complete specific job assignments with travel teams, tournaments, camps, practices and any other events.
